Didn’t really get a chance to meet up with the gang that often after I decided to quit online gaming to focus on other stuff (photography, for instance).  I was therefore thrilled to be asked to photograph his wedding late last year.

They recently got married, and I tagged along as the second photographer, shooting whenever I can get a sneak shot in, trying my best not to incur the wrath of the main photog (just kidding ).

I first met Claudine while on an underwater photography writing assignment (yes, that was what it was, and no, the sentence does not contradict itself). I went along with The Submersibles to Perhentian for a short diving trip. Both Claudine and I were taking our Open Water Diver course then.

Just a year or so after we left Perhentian behind us, I get a call from a Claudine inquiring about my photography services. Not knowing that it was the same Claudine, we arranged for a meet-up, and the rest is history

On another related note, one of Chong Bing’s ‘xiong di’ also happens to be a fellow colleague from NS. Just how small can the world get?!

Can’t believe it’s been about a month since I last blogged. But I must also add – what a month this has been!

October was particularly busy for me – 3 weddings to shoot, with another in early November. That, plus a full time job, and cleaning the house and spending time with my lovely wife, S, has obviously kept me extremely busy!! So, there’ll be a series of updates soon to fill the rectify this dearth of posts!

First up, we have Desmond and Clarine. They were the first couple who signed up with me back in June 2009 (how time flies – it’s already been half a year, and we’re now staring at the the beginning of a new one!).

Needless to say, I was honoured when he approached me to ask if I would be willing to shoot his wedding at the Singapore Marriott Hotel, and naturally I said yes (else there wouldn’t be any photos, would there?). Oh, and shooting 50 tables isn’t exactly the easier thing to do either. Both my big toes and heels (the part of the foot, not the footwear :p) were killing me at the end of the night, but nevertheless, I certainly enjoyed myself!

There’s little much to say besides this, really. Having been friends with Maurice for a little over 15 years now, and having gotten to know Esther for the last 6 or so, all of us were glad to see them married =) Here’s a hearty congratulations to the both of you!

For those of us married ones, you’ll know what I’m talking about.

For those of you who are thinking of tying the knot soon, it’s better to start early than to wait for things to start gathering momentum.

Anyways, I was also fortunate to witness the union of two lovely souls, Jason and Trang, on 5 September. Held at The Regent Hotel, the simple ceremony was witnessed by their close friends, followed after by dinner.

Anyhows, I’ve recently shot a pre-wedding with Derrick Ong (blog here) for one of my best friends, Maurice and Esther.

I first knew Maurice back in secondary school, when we first started playing Magic: The Gathering Trading Card Game (more about that here) with Herby, another of my best friends from secondary school. And Wee Lock, whom we met while playing Magic. The four of us have known each other for 15 years, and it was certainly an honour and  privilege to shoot for Maurice and Esther’s pre-wedding.

While the weather wasn’t great that day, Derrick and I made the most out of our shots, revising the angles and exposures to achieve what we thought was best for Maurice and Esther. Below are some shots we managed to get from that day. You can find the slideshow here.

So, when I got my first job at Just Media, I was undoubtedly thrilled. Sure, the pay wasn’t fantastic then, but still, it was a step in the right direction.

The gig, however, didn’t last long. I soon found another job at PHOTOVIDEOi™, and my journey with photography began then. So, when the wedding invite came, I offered my services to start building my portfolio. And here we are
