Welcome to my blog!

Just to get the obvious things out of the way – my name is Adrian, the C. refers to my surname, and the Photographer part of the blog title is perhaps a little self explanatory. The reason why I’m stating this is that I’ve had a client ask me before if that was really my name. So there we go, awkwardness averted! :D

I’m a freelance photographer residing in Singapore. I do primarily weddings, but have had experience in other fields of photography as well, having shot for several local publications and the supplements they do.

I first discovered photography when I was in studying at Temasek Polytechnic, but that was also a time when digital photography equipment was extremely expensive.

Before I left for Australia to do my degree, I bought a Nikon D70s, and everything just changed from there. Look at the industry now and you’ll understand just how has changed in the last decade or so.

I’ve been a copywriter, a tech photojournalist, and a new media corporate communications specialist; but photography has taken my breath away too many times for me to just let it go.

My style borders on photojournalism; I tend to look for emotions, details, interactions. I’m constantly looking for new angles to shoot from, giving photos a new perspective wherever and whenever possible. I usually try not to pose couples, but if it has to be done, it has to be done.

New York

New York City – the city so immortalized in Hollywood movies, so adored by people the world over, and home of some of the most well known skyscrapers in the world. It is easily considered to be the city the world; walk through the long avenues and the cozy sidewalks and you can just meet people of varying nationalities in just one minute.

My first trip (and only trip so far) to NYC was during my first job, where we had to meet with one of the international clients. Though it was supposed to be a business trip, my colleagues and I decided to extend our stay there since it already costs so much just to fly there. This was also the first time where I really used my camera to its fullest; some of my favourite shots were from here too.

That said, enjoy the photos!

P.S. – I’m looking forward to going back to NYC again, preferably after Christmas when they have their annual post-Christmas sale. Yes, S, I’ll want to go with you this time round.
